Beefeater Launching More Sustainable Gin Bottle

Beefeater GIn sustainable bottle

Beefeater Gin has unveiled a new, more sustainable Gin bottle that will allow the Pernod Ricard-owned brand to save 410 tonnes of plastic every year. The new packaging design is set to roll out this month (January 2021).

The new, sustainable Beefeater Gin bottle is made entirely from recyclable glass. The shape was inspired by London bricks and it was designed with bartenders in mind as it’s supposed to make pouring easier. The brand replaced the previous plastic cap with an embossed, aluminium cap and it changed the label from PVC to paper.

“Whilst our packaging has evolved our award-winning gin remains the same, with every drop distilled in the heart of London,” said Murielle Dessenis, Beefeater global brand director. “The design of the bottle, from its shape to its label, paints a picture of what the liquid inside will taste like. The brand is fortunate enough to have 200 years of distilling heritage to draw from and this new pack certainly celebrates the history but also looks forward to the next 200 years.

“The new design has performed well with bartenders and consumers alike, and we’re proud to have designed this new iteration of Beefeater’s iconic bottle with sustainability in mind, taking the brand on to the next step in its journey with a natural evolution for today’s gin enthusiasts.”

The new sustainable Beefeater Gin bottle is rolling out this month and will cover the brand’s entire range, except for Beefeater 24.

In other Pernod Ricard bottle news, Absolut Vodka and sacai collaborated on a limited edition bottle set in December. Created to advocate a reduce, reuse, recycle lifestyle, the collaboration emphasizes the fact that sustainability does not limit creativity. Designer Chitose Abe and the Vodka brand crafted a co-branded bottle design and an accompanying reusable spray nozzle with a silicone sleeve to be refilled for any and every purpose. The Swedish Vodka brand and the Japanese label will reportedly limit the release to just 500 sets.
