Patron is celebrating Day of the Dead by releasing limited-edition bottles and themed Tequila cocktails. Día de Muertos will take place on November 1 & 2, 2020 and sees families across Mexico honoring their loved ones who have passed on with offerings, including marigold flowers, sugar skulls and brightly colored flags, aka papel picado.

For the 2020 festival, Patron has teamed up with personalization store Inkd to create a limited edition bottle. The vessel features Day of the Dead-related symbols, including sugar skulls, butterflies, and colorful marigold.

The limited edition Patron Day of the Dead (Dia De Muertos) bottles are available to buy through Harvey Nichols and the Inkd website, priced from £55 ($72 USD).

In Mexico, the iconic Tequila brand will celebrate Dia De Muertos by teaming up with bars across the country to offer a “Buy One, Gift One” service on a selection of Day of the Dead-themed cocktails.. Patron is doing this through a first-of-its-kind digital rate of sale program. In order to find out more, head over to the brand’s social media.

“As the home place and heart-beat of Patrón Tequila, Mexico, its people and culture are the core of who we are and what we do,” said Matthew Sykes, senior director of international marketing for Patrón Tequila. “Due to its iconic symbolism and intriguing history, Día de Muertos has gradually gained momentum to become an occasion on the global calendar for many consumers. This year, we continue to raise awareness of this moment that matters by working with our trade partners to provide consumers with traditional elements, inspiration and innovative tools to embrace the festivity in the comfort of their homes and raise a glass with us.”

Back in July, Patron announced that David Rodriguez had been promoted to Master Distiller. For nearly 18 years, Rodriguez worked side by side with Patron’s previous Master Distiller, industry legend Francisco Alcaraz, to make sure every bottle of Tequila that left the Jalisco, Mexico distillery met the high standards of the Bacardi-owned brand.
