Plantation Rum Unveils Extrême No.4 Collection

Plantation Extrême No.4 Collection

Maison Ferrand has unveiled its new Plantation Extrême No.4 Collection. Made up of eight “ultra limited edition” Rums, the new collection is the fourth Plantation Extrême series of bottlings.

Selected by master blender Alexandre Gabriel, the Plantation Extrêmes No.4 Collection is made up of rums from “only the best barrels” chosen by the Plantation team. The eight rums have gone through the French rum brand’s double ageing process, which starts with aging in Bourbon casks followed by a second maturation for one year in Ferrand oak casks in France.

Each Rum bottle comes with a section of a meter-long panoramic artwork that depicts the sea voyage of Rum merchants, who are sailing across the Atlantic to bring barrels from the Caribbean to Europe.

The new Rums are priced between €170 and €380 ($199 USD to $445 USD). The Plantation St Lucia 2007 from the Extrême No.4 Collection will be available beginning October 2,  from Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange in the United Kingdom, priced at £150 ($194 US).

Extrême n°4 Long Pond 1995 ITP and Extrême n°4 Long Pond 1995 STCE, both from Jamaica, will be released in the United States, but there is no word on where they can be purchased at this time.
