Tanqueray Gin Releases Three Canned Cocktails

|

Tanqueray is serving up three new canned cocktails: Tanqueray Gin & Tonic, Tanqueray Rangpur Lime Gin & Soda, and Tanqueray Sevilla Orange Gin & Soda. The English spirits brand joins a growing market that is already crowded with competitors, but is sure to grab attention nonetheless. We just hope Tony Sinclair and his maniacal laugh resurface to ask if we’re “Ready to Tanqueray?”

Beginning in September, Tanqueray Gin canned cocktails will be available in nine different states (Arizona, Illinois, California, Nevada, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio and Washington). There’s no news yet on when the new RTD option might be available in other states or territories. Previously, the Diageo-owned brand offered bottled premixed Gin & Tonics outside of the U.S.

The three new flavors offer straightforward ways to enjoy one the world’s most-popular Gin brands. The Tanqueray Gin & Tonic is made with Tanqueray London Dry Gin and aromatic tonic water. The Tanqueray Rangpur Lime Gin & Soda is made with Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin (which is distilled with limes) and soda water. The Tanqueray Sevilla Orange Gin & Soda feaures Tanqueray Gin as the base, Seville orange flavors (along with other natural flavors) and soda water.

Each can is 12 ounces and has 6% ABV. They come in packs of four and run $14.99, which works out to $3.75 each, which is definitely cheaper than what you pay at the local pub, though the alcohol content is much lower–which could be a blessing in disguise.

This has certainly been the year, and even more the summer, of canned cocktails. Earlier this month, Bacardi entered the ring with four mixed drinks. Absolut Vodka joined the party with six RTD options. Kahlua introduced a Nitro Cold Brew that features Rum, while Tia Maria unveiled their own Iced Coffee Frappe. Opihr released two Gin & Tonic canned cocktail options.

It wasn’t only the big names delivering new, aluminum-wrapped delights, Volley entered the game four Tequila-based RTDs and Onda launched their own sparkling Tequila canned cocktail. Those looking for something a bit harder, meanwhile, might want to give Siponey Royale a try.
