The 10th

the 10th vail

If you simply can’t wait for Apres Ski and are prepared to spend a little extra on some high-end drinks and grub, The 10th is the place for you. The bar restaurant is on the mountain, and we don’t mean at the bottom with all the other popular post-ski drink stops. The 10th sits at Mid-Vail, where many of Vail Village’s major lifts converge–a little more than halfway up the mountain. It’s a ski-in, ski-out situation that brings all the luxury of a four star restaurant.

Prices aren’t cheap, but the food and drinks are of the highest quality. The menu is filled with alpine classics such as raclette, elk chili, and Colorado striped bass. Those looking for something on the healthier side will be pleased to find multiple salads on the menu as well as a few soup options. If you’re looking for something hearty, the burger will more than suffice, but will also run you $30. Those looking to keep things on the cheaper side (and save money for the delicious cocktails) will want to split a flatbread, which will certainly provide enough food for two, as look as you’re not ravenous. If you’re all about opulence (this is Vail after all), you can simply go with the foie gras and add on some truffle fries for good measure.

The drink menu is surprisingly vast with 8 beers on tap, a variety of hot and cold cocktails, and an impressive wine menu. If you’re looking for something bubbly and floral, take a chance on the Lavender 75 (lavender-infused Colorado Gin, lemon, Cava). Those looking for the necessary electrolytes might want to order an off-the-menu Mezcal margarita. And those looking for a meal in their drink might want to give The 10th Bloody Mary a whirl.

If you don’t want to ski all the way down the mountain for your midday break, but still want the type of luxury that brought you to Vail in the first place, stop at The 10th. For accessibility and quality of food, drink, and service, it’s tough to beat.
