Beaucastel Bottles

Soho’s Sussex has partnered with the iconic Château de Beaucastel to present ‘Beaucastel and Beyond’ a bespoke wine pairing event hosted by a world-leading wine producer from Famille Perrin as well as director and wine maker Richard Gladwin. The event will take place on the 20th October and will be an exclusive ticketed occasion devoted to fantastic wines paired with modern British cuisine produced by head chef Oliver Gladwin.

Guests will enjoy an evening indulging in a five-course Local and Wild menu curated by Gladwin, paired with a selection of six Beaucastel wines, priced at £110 per person. The event will begin at 7pm in the chic Sussex restaurant bar with an introduction to the evening accompanied by the first course of the tasting menu; a welcome glass of 2020 Miraval rosé served alongside AAA Maldon Rock oysters and Oliver Gladwin’s signature marmite éclairs. Both hosts will take guests on an interactive journey through the menu.

To start, monkfish carpaccio will be served with the 2019 Châteauneuf-Du-Pape ‘Les Sinards’ Blanc. In line with the Gladwin Brothers’ dedication to utilising local, seasonal produce there will then be a gnocchi dish made from hyper seasonal onion squash from Nutbourne Place farm with Tunworth foam, paired with 2015 Vinsobres Vieilles Vignes and a 2012 Domaine De Clos Des Tourelles. The main course, a Sussex venison fillet wellington served with figs, is matched with the equally bold Chateau de Beaucastel 2008 and Chateau de Beaucastel 2009.  The evening will culminate with a Rachel’s goat’s cheese, apricot and honey tart served with a Local and Wild favourite – Kingston Black Apple Cider Brandy from Somerset.

Sussex is located at 63-64 Frith St, London W1D 3JW. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12pm – 10:30pm.
