Hendrick’s Gin is drawing upon the Scottish twilight for their latest release. Hendrick’s’ Lunar Gin marks the second limited-edition expression from a special line of Master Distiller Ms. Lesley Gracie’s exclusive Cabinet of Curiosities collection.
According to the distiller, the celestially-inspired bottle features a “rich aroma of night-scented flowers” with just a “refreshing burst of citrus” in the background and “a delicate spicy finish.”
The skies of Scotland’s remote South Ayrshire offered Gracie a brilliant starting point, explaining: “There is something magical about the sky at night and sharing that experience with those closest to you, and this gin wraps that sensation up in a glass.”
To complement the gin’s spicy notes, Hendrick’s UK brand ambassador Sasha Filimonov suggested adding a pinch of black pepper.
“Lunar Gin lends itself to the addition of black pepper to accentuate the top notes of this gin. A stunning sundowner would be a Moonlight Buck, a combination of Hendrick’s Lunar, ginger ale and lemon juice, garnished with cucumber and a twist of lemon,” she said.
Hendricks’ first Cabinet Of Curiosities release was last year’s Midsummer Solstice. The enchanting purple bottle took a whimsical approach, amplifying the spirit’s signature cucumber and floral notes to fine effect.
Midsummer Solstice was inspired by the bounty of the season, according to Gracie
“I have always been enamored by the power of nature’s flavors and aromas at the peak of summer and for this new expression I’ve hand-selected each floral essence to capture this intensity.”
“Midsummer Solstice represents years of experimentation joining an exciting line of innovations from Hendrick’s, and I’m thrilled to not only create new liquid at the Gin Palace, but also share them with curious tasters and gin explorers all over the world.”
Hendrick’s Lunar Gin (70cl, 43.4% ABV) will be available online and in-store from 20th February.
