Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver is the Mexican spirits brand’s signature plata Tequila. It’s crisp, it’s clear, and it’s a heck of a way to start off a Friday night. It’s not pretentious like many other brands have become in recent years. This is Tequila made for shooting, but it also goes great in a mixed drink 

Tradicional Silver is made from 100% blue agave and it’s not aged. It’s refined and goes through a “special process” to conserve its unique flavors.

On the nose, aromas of honeysuckle, pepper, and citrus mix with a slight alcohol burn. The palate features a light mouthfeel with grapefruit, lime, and hints of pepper as well as a bit mor fire. The finish is quick and crisp with a note of citrus. To note, It’s meant to be chilled in the freezer.

Zen Collins

  • 2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tradicional Tequila Plata
  • .75 oz Lime Juice
  • .5 oz Simple Sugar
  • 3 oz Soda Water
  • 3-4 slices Cucumber
  • Cucumber wheel
  • Dill

Muddle Cucumber slices in a shaker. Add all remaining ingredients except soda into the shaker. Shake with ice. Strain over ice into highball glass. Top up with soda water. Garnish with Cucumber wheel and dill.

Jose Cuervo was the first brand ever to produce Tequila commercially. In 1796, the company founder, José Antonio de Cuervo, was granted the right to concession by the King of Spain.Tradicional is the original Tequila, and the family’s distillery, La Rojena, is still found on the same land. To this day, it remains family-owned and run.
