Kingsbarns Distillery Adds Balcomie Whisky To Core Range

|

Kingsbarns Distillery has added Balcomie Whisky to its core range. The new offering from the Fife-based distillery is the first in a series of future releases that will be named after landmarks near the brand’s home.

Named after Balcomie Castle, Kingsbarns Balcomie Whisky matured in 100% ex-oloroso American oak Sherry butts from Jerez, Spain, which were chosen for their gentle oak flavors and Sherry rich sweetness to compliment the fruit character of the spirit. On the nose, it offers aromas of treacle, sultanas, fruit loaf with cinnamon icing, and a touch of dark chocolate with summer berries. The palate delivers sweet tinned pineapple up front, along with orange peel and cake spice. The finish features lots of dried apricot and a hint of roasted hazelnut on the finish.

“Place and heritage is hugely important to us as a company and we’re proud of where we come from, therefore, we’re naming each of our future core range releases after different landmarks in Fife – starting with Balcomie,” explained William Wemyss, founder and managing director of Kingsbarns Distillery. “Our distillery is surrounded by a magnificent landscape with a wealth of history and we wanted to capture the essence of this with Balcomie – a product we’re really excited to share.”

Wemyss added: “The new addition to our range allows whisky lovers to enjoy fruity and indulgent flavours from an original bottle designed to honour our Scottish heritage. The Balcomie is perfect for cold, autumnal evenings and is guaranteed to take whisky fans on a stunning flavour journey – we hope customers love it as much as we do.”

Bottled at 46% ABV, Kingsbarns Balcomie Whisky is on sale for the price of £49.99 ($66 USD) and can be purchased directly from Kingsbarns’ official website as well as other specialty retailers. Shipments will begin on November 23, 2020.
