Town Hall Hotel, located in the old Bethnal Green Town Hall in the heart of London’s East End, has announced the launch of a new destination watering hole, Silk Weaver Bar. The 35 cover space, named after the original French Huguenots who fled persecution in their native country and settled in Spitalfields and Bethnal Green, will offer guests a carefully curated and innovative cocktail menu as well as a selection of French wines, Champagnes, beers, and ciders.

Barbara has taken inspiration from her native Marseille to create six exceptional cocktails, including Provence Express (Lemon Verbena infused Gin, Olive Brine, Mint, Organic Rose Wine, Lemon and Soda where the lemon verbena has been flown in from Barabra’s mother’s garden) and Crimson (Cachaca, White Rum, Cumin, Red Pepper Syrup, Raspberry Vinegar and Lime). The introduction of the red pepper syrup in Crimson is influenced by the Mediterranean dishes that Barabara enjoyed as a child. Above the Clouds (Blanco Tequila, Absinthe, Earl Grey Tea Syrup, Ginger, Lemon, Pineapple & Lime Foam) marries together two classic flavours from both France and Britain with England’s love of tea in the Earl Grey syrup and Absinthe, the only drink to have in France in the early 1900s and forever immortalised by French painter Toulouse-Lautrec.

Silk Weaver is open Wednesday from 17:00 to 22:00, Thursday from 17:00 to midnight, Friday from 17:00 to 01:00, Saturday from 17:00 to 01:00, and Sunday from 17:00 to 22:00. Happy hour runs Wednesday to Sunday from 17:00 to 19:00 and includes a selection of 4 classic cocktails priced from £7 and wine and beers at half off.
