Woodford Reserve has announced its annual release of Double Double Oaked Bourbon – and this year, consumers can win the opportunity to purchase a bottle. It’s the first time the brand has offered a national sweepstakes for one of its most sought-after bourbons.
“Double Double Oaked has such a cult following, which makes it very difficult for consumers to get their hands,” said Master Distiller Chris Morris. “This sweepstakes will allow more of our fans to have the chance to try this special release.”
Consumers who win the sweepstakes will have the ability to buy a bottle of Double Double Oaked from Woodford Reserve’s distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. Consumers may enter the sweepstakes now through February 8, and winners will be chosen at random and notified by February 10. Winners will be to buy their bottle in person from the distillery before April 10.

The product will also be available at Woodford Reserve Distillery starting 10:00 AM EDT, Tuesday, February 1, 2021. Customers may purchase up to two 375ml bottles. Due to COVID restrictions, the distillery will be reducing the number of guests inside the gift shop and face masks are required.
Double Double Oaked will also be available in limited quantities at select Kentucky retailers. The whiskey is the result of finishing fully mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional year in a second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel. The extra year in the barrel creates a bourbon that is distinctly spicier than its original counterpart, known for its sweeter taste and finish.
A robust medley of rich maple syrup, dark butterscotch, brittle caramel, bittersweet chocolate, burnt marshmallow and sweet hickory smoke notes dominate the nose. On the palate, rich dried cherry and cranberry fruit swim in blackberry jam brightened with hints of ripe apple, while chai tea and warming clove notes add a touch of spice. The finish is warm and drying with a lingering clove character.
Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked Bourbon comes in at 90.4 proof and is priced at $49.99 per 375ml bottle.
